Hi everyone!
I'm having some lighting issues, so I thought I'd upload an older post I wrote a few years back while I fixed things! Please note: sillylilacs.blogspot.com used to be my domain, so I watermarked with (c) SillyLilacs :)
And onto the review!
Wet 'n' Wild Color Icon 8-Pan Palette in Petal Pusher is one of three different eight-pan palettes released earlier this year. A generally pink/purple cool themed palette, the colors range from light to dark. If categorized, the left column is more of a daytime palette, and the right column is nighttime.
Price: $4.99 USD
Where to buy: Walgreens, Walmart and select CVS locations
Left Column:
Browbone:
Eyelid:
Crease:
Definer:
Right Column:
Packaging:
The snap case is a little too strong for my liking. I've noticed this as a trend in the other new palettes as well. The snap to close the case is so strong, and the shadows are so soft, that simply closing the case, sometimes shakes the shadow loose. I have a single eyeshadow that completely shattered when I was in a rush and snapped close the case.
The overall square packaging is nice and compact. The dual ended sponge tip applicator and brush is a great way to incorporate the signature from the 6-pan palettes. I almost wish there was a mirror included as well like the older, discontinued Ultimate Expressions Palettes. But the clear top is still great when you're trying to locate these palettes.
Overall:
The quality of this palette seems to all over the place (some shadow are great, some missed the mark) in comparison to all the other solid performing Wet 'n' Wild palettes, however this palette is still one of the best quality and value in the drugstore.
Moving onto pictures...
All swatches are done without primer.

Left Column:
Browbone:
- White shadow with icy, pink shimmer.
- I can almost see an attempt at satin finish, however it comes off as powdery and chalky on swatch. But less so on the actual eyelid.
Eyelid:
- Faint muted lilac-purple with gold shimmer
- Gorgeous swatched, unfortunately, the pretty gold shimmer/sheen doesn't translate to the eyelids. It showed up when I put a yellow base down, but that completely distorts the purple.
- A little too powdery at times and not as pigmented as expected.
Crease:
- Medium dark violet purple with light lilac shimmer
- Swatches gorgeously and goes on the lid very well.
- Pigmented
Definer:
- Medium dark violet blue purple with silver and lavender sparkle/glitter
- The glitter feels a little chunky, but blends nicely on the lid.
- Pigmented
Right Column:
Browbone:
- Pale pink with frost finish
- Very pigmented. Swatches well on arm and eyes.
Eyelid:
- Muted dirty copper rose with gold shimmer sheen
- Swatches well, but blends away pretty easily. Definitely one of the sheerer shadows in the palette.
Crease:
- Burgundy black brown with red shimmer
- Second most pigmented of the palette
- When swatched, sometimes the camera caught a green shimmer in addition to the red.
- When applied to eyes, color is more burgundy brown than burgundy black like in the pan.
Definer:
- Black with multicolored shimmer
- Most pigmented shadow of the palette

Great overview of the palette. I have Comfort Zone and I'd say the overall quality of the shadows is similar. Chalky light colours but gorgeous deep tones. xx lilstephh.blogspot.ca
ReplyDeleteThanks Steph! Really? My Comfort Zone performs better than my Petal Pusher :o
DeleteThe palette looks great, thanks for the review.

What you published made a bunch of sense.
ReplyDeleteHowever, consider this, what if you were to write a killer headline?
I mean, I don't want to tell you how to run your blog, however suppose you added a title that makes people desire more? I mean "Wet 'n' Wild Petal Pusher 8 Pan Palette - Review, Photos, and Swatches" is kinda vanilla. You should look at Yahoo's
home page and note how they create post titles to get
viewers interested. You might try adding a video or a picture or two to
grab readers excited about what you've got to say. Just my opinion, it might bring your website a little livelier.
