Crabtree & Evelyn Hand Therapy Collection Age Defying Hand Remedy in Rosewater ($7.00 USD / 25g / 0.9oz) is a moisturizing hand cream that absorbs fairly fast.

I first purchased this during Black Friday deals for $2/each. As someone who really needs to take better care of her hands, I snagged up on this deal instantly! I'm pretty rough on my hands overall, and with the winter season, I knew that I need to start take better care of my hands.

Crabtree & Evelyn describes it as follows:

Age-defying formula helps reduce the visible signs of aging, leaving hands soft and smooth with a more youthful appearance.  A blend of peptides and naturally derived extracts helps even skin tone, helps plump and firm skin, and improves overall suppleness. Contains a unique time-released capsule of antioxidants, which have been found to  minimise the damaging effects of free radicals. A custom blend of natural butters and oils has been added to moisturise  dry skin.

Packaging:

The packaging, like all Crabtree & Evelyn products, has a vintage elegance. The tube feels aluminum and the white screw on cap is plastic. The octagon shaped cap provides easy grip for opening and closing, without shredding your hands. If you're not careful, you'll be dropping the cap quite often though! Perhaps a flip top would be easier for those of us not paying attention.

Texture:

The white hand cream was a bit more lotion-esque than I expected. On a scale of lotion being 1, cream being 5, this would be a 3.5. Those who use Bath and Body Works creams, those are definitely of a thicker texture.

However, the thick lotion consistency is not greasy nor oily. It absorbs into your skin by the fifth circle rub. For half a minute, you may slightly feel the cream lying on your skin. But this cream leaves your skin soft and supple. Also, a little bit of this goes a long way! So no need to squirt a long ribbon of cream. A pea size would be enough for small hands!




Scent:

Oh the scent! Good job Crabtree & Evelyn! It's so hard to be able to create a natural rose scent that wouldn't overpower our noses. But C&E has done it! When you sniff the tube, it's a mild rose scent with a little ...green. Close your eyes, imagine you're in a field of roses, and this what it smells like.

Those who don't like the rose scent probably wouldn't object to this scent. It's just THAT natural. Those who like rose scents, you probably can't get enough of this scent. *guilty look*

After the cream is absorbed into the skin, the scent will linger. I can still smell it ~3 hours in. At 5 hours, I have people complimenting "that nice smell."

Effects:

Using my little tube a few days straight, applying twice daily (morning / later afternoon), I have noticed that my cuticles are softer and the drier patches from winds are gone. I can not speak for anti-aging effect though. But like I said before, this lotion definitely leaves your skin softer! My skin also felt more supple just from the application.

Those hands that need some love can apply more often, those hands that want an extra boost can probably get away being applied just once. Although, my dad (yes, my dad), complained that his drier hands drank the cream and was still thirsty for more. So this may not be the best one to choose for extra dry skin.

Bottom Line:

     - good hand cream for purposes (Even for the macho men! - but perhaps not the Rosewater one...)
     - absorbs fast into the skin
     - not greasy or oily
     - a little goes a long way!

     Good for:
          - dry hands
          - cuticles
          - everyday use

     Bad for:
          - extra dry skin
